Continuum, 100 x 145 cm, acrylic on canvas, 2025
I work with the body — not as an object, but as a space of decisions, change, and reclaimed autonomy. This painting is the first piece from a new series exploring themes of embodiment, femininity, and the right to personal integrity. I understand the body as a fluid whole that evolves over time, responding to both internal and external influences. The work reflects not only the social pressures that bodies — especially women’s bodies — are subjected to through commentary, judgment, or the crossing of boundaries, but also the personal dimension of bodily transformation, for instance in connection with motherhood. The openness in depicting the body is not an invitation for evaluation, but a statement of position: the body is not public property. The right to decide about it — and about oneself — belongs solely to the one it inhabits.
